Halo Laser Before And After Acne Scars

Acne is not just a teenage problem. There are many people who suffer from bad skin, although puberty has long since survived. Because often consequential damage remains, so-called pimples and acne tracks, which sit deep in the skin. This gnaws at self-confidence and the sufferers try out countless means, creams and cosmetic treatments to get rid of the unsightly memories of skin disease. But most of the time there is no success. A new laser technology now promises effective help in removing acne scars.

Ms. Haubner suffered from severe acne infestation during her youth and is now struggling with the traces that severely restrict her. In terms of her skin she has strong complexes, the fear everyone looks at the holes and craters in her face. In order to finally be free of such thoughts and gain more self-assurance, she has decided to seek medical help. She has already undergone some treatment at the beauty surgeon; no one has been able to achieve an effect - partly because she was advised to undergo a wrong treatment in her situation, a skin tightening.

HALO laser therapy effective against acne

The special feature of the HALO laser - the first hybrid fractional laser - is that it consists of two lasers: a fractional Erbium YAG and a diode laser. It combines two different laser treatments in just one application, because it can work both in the depth of the skin and on its surface. This leads to optimal results not only in acne scars. The HALO laser can also visibly reduce coarse pores, pigment spots and fine wrinkles.

15 minutes before treatment, a local anaesthetic ointment is applied to the areas to be treated so that the patient does not experience any pain during laser treatment. In addition, it is important to adjust the laser according to the individual skin structure, because not every skin layer and facial area is treated the same. If no expert works here who knows the facial anatomy from the skin can damage and theoretically burn.

The treatment head of the laser sends focused light energy into the scar tissue, which is converted into heat. The skin layer can heat up to 55 degrees, which leads to shrinkage effects of the collagen structure and thus to smoothing of the tissue. The HALO laser stimulates the skin from the inside to rebuild and the skin quality improves in the long term and permanently.

The pulses of the laser become noticeable like tiny needle stitches and also as heat. A treatment session lasts about 15-20 minutes - up to three sessions are required for an optimal result. The skin is then reddened and must be cooled well. In principle, the treatment belongs to the "to-go procedures," i.e. the patient is again office-capable the next day. Depending on the skin type, it can also take up to five days before the redness subsides. Compared to other lasers, where you have to plan up to 20 days of recovery time for the skin, the HALO laser works much more gently.
